Lately I’ve been anxiouslowgrievingburnt out

Mendwell is a WordPress theme for psychologists, therapists and counselling practices. It starts from how people feel, not from credentials, and it says plainly who each therapist is not the right fit for.

Mendwell home page: the sentence ‘Lately I’ve been anxious’ with feeling chips, and three therapist cards that each say who they are not the right fit for.

The idea

Three things no other therapy theme does.

Most therapy themes open with a stock photo and a list of credentials. Mendwell opens with the visitor’s own sentence.

01

Start with how you’ve been

The hero is a sentence the visitor completes. Their choice filters therapists, topics and fees.

02

Say who it’s not for

Every therapist, treatment and home carries a ‘not the right fit if’ line. Fewer first sessions that go nowhere.

Good fit for
Panic, health anxiety
Not the right fit if
You want open-ended talk
03

A crisis line on every page

A strip above every header, a crisis column in every footer, and signposts for when therapy isn’t the first step.

If you are in danger right now, call 112. Crisis lines →

Built for trust

A therapy site has more to get right.

Reviewers and clients notice the details that keep people safe.

01

No photos of people in distress

Therapists appear as themselves; articles use rooms, light and landscape.

02

Fees in the open

Standard and lower fees per therapist, and how the lower fee works.

03

Registration you can check

Every profile links to the public register, with the date it was last checked.

04

No reviews of therapists

Many professional codes discourage testimonials; fit and registration replace them.

05

Signposts, not just sign-ups

Crisis, GP and youth services, for when therapy isn’t the first step.

06

Contrast checked

Every text on every screen measured against its real background.
